Patient Care Technician - Float Pool

Patient Care Tech – Float Pool Unit at Providence Newberg Medical Center.  This posting represents a .9 FTE, day shift opening (7am-7:30pm, 3, 12 hour shifts per week) with rotating weekends.

Works closely with all members of the team to provide direct patient care to optimize positive patient care outcomes. Works independently and assists the registered nurse/nurse practitioner during clinic visits by providing the appropriate procedures.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Coursework/Training: For hires after 07/26/2023:
    • Completion of a MA program (not required to maintain certification after hire), Or
    • Completion of first semester nursing program, Or
    • EMT program completion (not required to maintain certification after hire)    Or equivalent educ/experience, Or
    • 1 year of acute patient care experience, Or
    • 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment in providing clerical support related to Provider or Patient documentation or charting.
  • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 
  • Experience with basic data entry.
  • 6 months    Phlebotomy skills. Must be proficient.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: EKG Training.
