Experienced Patent Paralegal

Mon-Friday 8:30 am-5:30 pm
Compensation: $72,000K+/year DOE

We are seeking a Patent Paralegal to join our Salt Lake City office in a hybrid capacity. In this role, you will manage U.S. and foreign patent prosecution dockets, ensuring all deadlines are tracked and met, correspondence is accurately prepared, and critical tasks are completed efficiently. What you’ll do:
- Manage and maintain U.S. and international patent prosecution dockets, ensuring accuracy and timely completion of deadlines
- Draft correspondence and patent prosecution documents for attorney review, including applications, formalities, examination responses, appeals, and post-allowance matters
- Communicate with clients and foreign counsel regarding routine prosecution matters and international filings under attorney direction
- Oversee and maintain patent portfolio data, including docket tracking, deadlines, and file accuracy
- Support creation and maintenance of IDS databases within IP docketing systems
- Assist with patent due diligence projects and portfolio management initiatives
- Navigate USPTO systems to track application status and retrieve documents
- Conduct country-specific legal and procedural research related to filing requirements and documentation
- Support attorneys in managing global patent portfolios and coordinating international filings
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent IP experience
- 2–5 years of patent prosecution or intellectual property experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and track multiple portfolio milestones
- Knowledge of U.S. and international patent procedures and USPTO systems
- Experience with IP docketing systems (Foundation IP preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
- Proactive, resourceful, and confident exercising sound judgment when escalating issues
