A highly respected Am Law firm is seeking a Patent Associate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join its Tampa office. This opportunity focuses on patent preparation and prosecution while offering exposure to a broad range of intellectual property matters involving advanced technologies.


This partner-track position is ideal for attorneys with a technical background who are looking to work on sophisticated patent matters while maintaining a strong work-life balance in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities


• Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications

• Conduct detailed analysis of patentability, infringement, and validity issues

• Work on a variety of intellectual property matters across industries

• Collaborate with clients, inventors, and internal legal teams

• Stay current with developments in patent law and emerging technologies

• Support strategic IP portfolio development and management

Qualifications


• 3–5 years of experience as a Patent Associate Attorney or IP Attorney

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active state bar membership

• Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO required)

• Undergraduate degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field

• Experience in telecommunications, integrated circuits, or related technologies preferred

• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
