A top-tier global law firm is seeking a Patent Agent or Patent Associate to join its growing Intellectual Property practice in Austin. Key Responsibilities

• Support the strategic development, procurement, and management of patent portfolios
• Draft and prosecute U.S. patent applications, particularly in the computer arts
• Work closely with clients to understand technologies and develop IP strategies
• Provide patentability analysis and general IP counseling

Qualifications

• 3+ years of patent prosecution experience
• Strong experience drafting patent applications in areas such as:
• Software / SaaS
• Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning / LLMs
• FinTech
• Web-based technologies
• Telecommunications
• Integrated circuits
• Registered to practice before the USPTO
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field preferred
• Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical backgrounds will also be considered
• Excellent academic credentials
• Strong writing, analytical, and client-facing skills
• Experience drafting complex software-related patents is a strong plus
