Hilton Los Angeles Airport LAX Hotel is located off I-405 with SoFi Stadium, the Intuit Dome, and The Forum located three miles away. Manhattan Beach and Santa Monica Pier are within 13 miles. We are looking for an experienced pastry cook to join our culinary team!

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a pastry cook or baker in a production kitchen, commissary or bakery

  • Experience in proofing and baking croissants, muffins, etc

  • Proficiency in following standardized recipes and producing desserts from scratch including but not limited to tiramisu, panna cotta, bread pudding, etc

  • Previoushotel pastry production experience is a plus

  • Working knowledge of bakery production equipment including but not limited to ovens, mixers, proofers, scales, hand blenders, etc

  • Open availability and the ability to work morning, evening, weekend and holiday shifts

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team

Pay Rate: $24.61 per hour

Shift Pattern: Varied early morning shifts starting as early as 4:00am. Must be available weekends and holidays as well

A Pastry Cook is responsible for creating, preparing, producing and baking all pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for food and beverage outlets in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

What will I be doing?

As a Pastry Cook, you would be responsible for creating, preparing, producing and baking all pastries, breads, rolls and desserts for food and beverage outlets in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Prepare pastry food items according to designated recipes and quality standards

  • Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards

  • Stock, maintain and ensure proper storage and refrigeration of an adequate supply of all prepared product

  • Develop new products for a-la-carte and catering menus, as needed

  • Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations

  • Display and set baked products on mobile carts according to specifications

  • Prepare daily requisitions for supplies and food items
