Seniors Home Care is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced accounting professional to support our financial operations on a part-time basis.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background who enjoys reviewing, validating, and improving financial processes in a flexible, lower-hour capacity. This position functions as a key internal review layer for our accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and strong financial discipline.
This is a hands-on review and oversight role focused on maintaining clean, reliable financials. You will work closely with our existing bookkeeping/accounting function, providing a second layer of review, identifying issues, and ensuring smooth financial operations. The role is structured around a biweekly review cycle and monthly close responsibilities.
Hours: ~10–20 hours per week (aligned with biweekly review cycles)
Schedule: Flexible
Location: On Site
Reports to: CEO
Key Responsibilities
• Review and audit the work of the accountant/bookkeeper on a biweekly basis
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, coding errors, and timing issues
• Serve as a secondary approval for payroll and billing cycles
• Manage updates and configuration changes within ADP Payroll
• Oversee scheduling software updates related to payroll inputs
• Document system changes and communicate updates to staff
• Review balance sheet and income statement on a regular basis
• Investigate and document financial variances
• Support month-end close and reconciliations
What We're Looking For
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (Controller, Accounting Manager, or Senior Accountant level preferred)
• Strong understanding of financial statements and full-cycle accounting
• High attention to detail and strong financial analysis skills
• Comfortable working independently with limited hours
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience with ADP, Excel, and standard accounting systems
Who This Role Is a Great Fit For
• An experienced accountant or former controller who enjoys reviewing and refining financial processes
• Someone looking for a flexible, part-time role with meaningful responsibility
• A professional who takes pride in accuracy, consistency, and clean financials
Who This Role Is Not a Fit For
• Someone seeking a purely strategic or advisory CFO-type role
• Someone who prefers to delegate rather than review and engage in the details
• Someone looking for full-time hours or a rapid growth track
If you're an experienced accounting professional who enjoys bringing structure, accuracy, and clarity to financial operations, without the demands of a full-time role, we'd love to hear from you.
