**This is a part-time role. Onsite 3 days in NYC.


Role Overview: The Business Analyst supports merchandising, pricing, and product lifecycle functions within a dynamic retail setting. This role operates in a highly autonomous, project-based environment, partnering closely with merchandising leadership to drive insights, reporting, and operational execution. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives with minimal oversight.


Merchandising Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • Execute price changes, including updating costing based on market factors and developing retail pricing proposals
  • Prepare executive presentations featuring sales analysis, strategic recommendations, and product lifecycle insights
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reporting, including dashboards and sales performance analysis
  • Conduct detailed SKU-level analysis, including sales tracking and performance evaluation
  • Support new product lifecycle processes from concept through launch, including SKU creation and system updates
  • Maintain product planning files and ensure data accuracy across systems
  • Analyze assortment performance and recommend optimization or product retirement strategies
  • Manage supply planning through POS analysis and monthly ordering activities
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock movements across locations for events and store needs
  • Perform stock checks and manage inventory returns for non-retail locations
  • Develop pricing models and business scenarios to support merchandising decisions
  • Maintain and update internal systems to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, and regional teams
  • Execute ad hoc analyses and special projects in a self-directed environment


Merchandising Business Analyst Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of merchandising and assortment strategy
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., formulas, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and business insights generation
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, minimally supervised environment
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Retail experience preferred, ideally within luxury or adjacent sectors (e.g., apparel, department stores)
  • Prior experience supporting merchandising, planning, or product-focused teams is highly valued
