We are seeking an individual, who has demonstrated a willing commitment to these values, holding them in high regard, to join our team in the position of part- time, Childcare Attendant at the Alan E. Sims Cedar Hill Recreation Center. The purpose of this position is to monitor and safely supervise children in the drop-in child care room, the "Barnyard." This position also assists with implementing age appropriate activities and crafts during Barnyard hours. In addition to that, employees in the barnyard may have to assist Front Desk staff with member and guest duties.
This position generally works Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays.
- Provides premier customer service to Recreation Center patrons by safely supervising all activities in the children's barnyard area to ensure safety is a priority.
- Plans, organizes and directs various age appropriate recreation and leisure activities and special events for drop-in children.
- Maintain records, prepare reports, and upholds all barnyard policies and procedures to ensure successful operation of the barnyard.
- Performs light janitorial and maintenance duties.
- Performs minor first aid assistance to children and Recreation Center patrons, as needed.
- Assists in other areas of the Recreation Center, as needed.
- Regular attendance is required.
- Six months to one year experience in customer service & child care related position or recreational environment.
- First Aid, AED and CPR certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background screening
