The Seasonal Lifeguard/Senior Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies at The Energy Solutions Aquatics Center at The Peak Sports and Entertainment Complex. These roles require constant vigilance, strong swimming skills, and the ability to act quickly and calmly in emergency situations while providing excellent customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
Lifeguard Entry Level: $17.17 per hour
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Senior Lifeguard: $18.03 per hour
- Must be at least 17 years old.
- Must have at least 1 year of experience as a lifeguard.
- Intermediate knowledge and application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
- Certifications in the following at time of hire: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and WSI Instructor.
Responsibilities
- Maintain constant surveillance of assigned swimming areas.
- Enforce facility rules and safety regulations consistently and fairly.
- Prevent accidents through proactive safety measures and patron education.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including rescues and first aid situations.
- Administer first aid, CPR, and emergency care as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Complete incident and accident reports accurately.
- Participate in regular training, drills, and staff meetings.
- Provide friendly, professional assistance to patrons at all times.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous lifeguarding or aquatic experience
- Experience working with the public or youth.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and swim for extended periods.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Basic knowledge of event operations and logistics.
- Physical ability to lift and carry event-related equipment, between 25-50 lbs, and/or injured/ill person of varying weights.
Schedule
- Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
- Hours may vary based on facility needs and weather conditions.
