Position Overview:Reporting to and working under the guidance of the Parking Manager, the Parking Coordinator supports the daily operations of Harris County parking facilities. This role is responsible for coordinating parking reservations, managing access credentials and records, supporting garage and surface lot operations, and providing administrative and customer service support to county employees and departments. The position requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills to ensure accurate recordkeeping, effective vendor coordination, and data-informed operational decision-making.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating parking operations (reservations, credentials, records)
- Track, analyze, and report on parking utilization, occupancy trends, access activity, and operational data; prepare routine and ad hoc reports to support planning, forecasting, and management decision-making.
- Provide responsive customer service by addressing parking inquiries, resolving access issues and disputes, and escalating complex matters to the Parking Manager as appropriate.
- Assist in the review and organization of parking contracts and leases.
- Coordinate with parking vendors and service providers for routine maintenance, equipment repairs, installations, and service requests.
- Administer and maintain parking databases, access control systems, and Tririga (or equivalent platforms), ensuring accurate data entry, record integrity, and timely processing of system requests.
- Conduct garage and lot inspections
- Develop and maintain parking maps and allocation lists
- Participate in special events and relocation planning
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in parking services, administrative coordination, or a related operational support role.
- Familiarity with parking-related software or reservation systems.
- General knowledge of parking facilities, procedures, and best practices.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities (KSAs):
- Basic understanding of financial tracking or cash account procedures.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, vendors, and the public.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with strong prioritization and follow-up skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn new software systems and assist with system maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license (Texas upon hire) and good driving record.
Emergency Deployment & Continuity of Operations Requirement:
In accordance with Harris County’s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) Policy, this position is subject to emergency response and deployment protocols. The employee may be designated as supporting a Mission Essential Function (MEF) and must:
- Participate in the classification process of departmental staff based on MEF responsibilities.
- Be available for temporary deployment to an alternative work location, role, or telework assignment during emergency events.
- Confirm work assignments with their supervisor prior to reporting to any worksite during such events.
- Remain flexible in assuming alternative duties as directed to support County operations continuity

Position Type, and Typical Hours of Work:Full-Time | Regular | 40 hours per week.
Subject to early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays at times, depending upon the project or workload.
Salary: Commensurate with experience, based on 26 pay periods.
Physical Demands and Environmental Exposure:
Most assignments will be performed in an office, meeting, or operations command center environment, but some field work may be required. May be required to work extended work hours during activation of disaster recovery operations for an unspecified length of time (varies based on the extent of the event).
This position requires bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs., frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, and ascending/descending stairs.
