To apply, send a cover letter with your interest in the Mobile Crisis Response Team and an updated resume to HR@LivingstonMontana.org Do Not apply on Indeed The City of Livingston, Montana is seeking several highly motivated individuals to perform the role of on- call Paraprofessional Mobile Crisis Responder and assist on our Community Based Collaborative Mobile Crisis Response team. This is a n on-call, as -needed role. This position reports to the Mobile Crisis Response Team Program Manager , under the di rection of the Fire Chief . This position will support a mental health provider in the field assessments of diverse individuals in mental health crisis situations . This position requires in -home and community -based crisis response. Candidates will need to effectively collaborate with law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, schools, hospital emergency departments, and social service agencies. Work Location: Livingston, MT and Park County, MT Job Type: On-call, as -needed Rate of Pay: $20.00 to $2 5.00 per hour (DOE) for call responses and $5.00 per hour for on -call assigned shifts . This is a grant -funded position. The grant funding is not guaranteed to be extended past June 2027. Shifts: Must have av ailability for nights, overnights, weekends, and holiday on-call and response call-outs for service and support . Expected on -call shifts to range from 12 to 72 hours shift s. Tasks and Duties for Success: • Under general supervision of the Mobile Crisis Response Team Program Manager works closely with other Mobile Crisis Response Team members to deliver emergency crisis community support • Partner s with first responders to respond to incidents involving individ uals experiencing behavioral health crisis in Livingston and Park County , Montana • Applies de-escalation techniques and crisis stabilization services to a variety of individuals in a variety of settings • Assists and collaborates with law enforcement , emergency medical, and a mental health professional on mental health calls • Provides case management services for Mobile C risis clients • Ability to make appropriate referral s to community resources such as mental health and substance use treatment and services MCRT Paraprofessional – On Call Page 2 of 3 09/2025 • Provides follow up with Program Manager and/or Mobile Crisis Care Coordinator on the status of persons in distress fo r referrals to additional community and medical support • Completes accurate reports according to established policy and procedures • Provides written reports to city and county attorneys and courts, as needed • Testifies in court in commitment cases , as needed • Provides consultation to hospital emergency room staff and jail and law enforcement personnel • Responds to fire, rescue, medical, and other emergency incidents involving persons in crisis • Participates in group training with local mobile crisis respon se team and partners as scheduled • Ability to work well under pressure and during simultaneous demands • Perform s related duties and responsibilities as assigned • Adheres to all rules regarding confidentiality, HIPPA, PHI, PPI, and personal safety policies and procedures Education and Training : • Preferred experience in social services or EMS services • Experience working with youth and families preferred • Required: w ithin 6 months of hire must have or become certified/trained in: as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), crisis intervention training, trauma -informed care, de -escalation strategies, harm -reduction, and suicide awareness • Keeps up on required certificatio ns, CEU credits, learning, and techniques required to perform this job Qualifications and Requirements: • Must have a high school diploma or GED • Must pass a criminal background screening • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license and have an approved drivi ng history (and ability to get a Montana State Driver’s License within 1 month of hire, if not already in possession of) • Ability to drive in all weather conditions • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook Email, Word, and Excel • Ability to learn and use ImageTrend software to complete reports securely and confidentially • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English effectively with others and for report writing • Must maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity • Maintains a clean and complete uniform, personal hygiene, and professional, pleasant, and polite demeanor to all persons with whom the individual comes in contact with • Establish es and maintain s effective working relationships with coworkers and the public • Maintains knowledge a nd compliance with established policies and procedures, compliance program, code of ethics, applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, HIPAA standards, and other regulatory programs • Ability to multitask and work with frequent interruptions • Ability to communicate effectively in emergency situations in person, on the radio, and/or cell phone • Ability to have familiarity with the City of Livingston and Park County, Montana geography and locations • Enjoy meaningful work that makes a positive impa ct on the health and well -being of the community • Ability to use tablets or iPad like devices on response calls MCRT Paraprofessional – On Call Page 3 of 3 09/2025 Physical Requirements: This work is considered light -to-medium in nature and involves driving, sitting, walking, and standing for extended periods of time. This work involves exerting between 10 to 20 pounds of force or lifting on a regular basis. Work regularly requires speakin g or hearing and use of hands and/or fingers to carry, lift, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting, and repetitive motions. Work requires frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and sitting. Work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Working Conditions: This work is primarily performed indoors, but has exposure to environmental conditions while moving from location to location and vehicles and depending on where the crisis situation may be . These conditions may include heat, cold, snow/ice, bright or dim light and sunlight, wet and/or hu mid conditions, dust, pollen, smoke and other outdoor air situations. This work includes driving in all types of Montana weather conditions and on all types of roadways. Open until filled.
