Job Description

  • Draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, reports, and client correspondence
  • Perform legal research and summarize findings clearly for attorneys
  • Prepare exhibits, chronologies, document summaries, and hearing/trial prep materials
  • E-file in state and federal courts; coordinate with courts on filings and scheduling
  • Organize and maintain electronic case files to firm/client guidelines
  • Track deadlines, manage calendars/dockets, and help ensure nothing slips
  • Support client reporting requirements and litigation document organization
  • Reconcile attorney expenses and coordinate with accounting for proper billing
  • Occasionally assist with travel/logistics and other high-level administrative support


Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in a law firm or litigation environment
  • Strong understanding of court procedures and e-filing systems (state + federal)
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and organizational skills
  • Able to handle substantive work independently and manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Preferred: paralegal certificate
  • Preferred: insurance coverage and or insurance defense litigation experience
