Work Schedule
This position is a hybrid schedule. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday will be on-site. Wednesday will be at home.
What will success look like as a Paralegal at CD Law?
- Prepare initial drafts of written discovery, including Form Interrogatories, Requests for Admissions, Requests for Production of Documents, Special Interrogatories, etc. Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents.
- Speaking with clients regarding case-specific tasks
- Review and analyze medical records and other pertinent documents to support case preparation.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials.
- Organize and maintain exhibits and evidence for use in court proceedings.
- Coordinate with expert witnesses and consultants as needed.
- Assist in preparing demand letters and settlement packages.
- Handle administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing Master Trial Calendars.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to ethical and professional standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the firm.
What would an ideal candidate bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, Legal Studies, or a related field (preferred but not required);
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institution;
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a paralegal or legal secretary;
- Litigation experience REQUIRED
- Proficiency in Westlaw legal research tool;
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; Spanish speaking strongly preferred but not required;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
- Knowledge of court procedures, legal terminology, and document drafting;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation for this role is $75-95k per year with a generous performance-based bonus structure. This position is a full-time, non-exempt employee. Work from home on Wednesdays (after the probation period). The office is located in Downtown Los Angeles, CA 90071. Safe and secure parking is available at no cost to the employee.
