We're a fast-moving company building high-stakes hardware for customers in aerospace, defense, and IT, and we need a hands-on technician to be the backbone of our panel shop. This is a ground-floor opportunity: you'll be our first dedicated hire in this role, which means broad ownership, real autonomy, and a direct path to becoming our Manufacturing Lead as we scale.
You won't be handed a detailed playbook. You'll help write it. If you get fired up about bringing structure to ambiguity, finding and solving would-be problems, can take ownership of end-to-end lifecycles, and find pride in delivering quality work, this is for you.
What You'll Do
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics to build custom control panels from scratch
• Fabricate, terminate, and label cables and wire harnesses to specification
• Assemble, wire, and dress panels to a professional standard
• Perform functional testing and troubleshoot issues before sign-off
• Prepare finished assemblies for shipment (packaging, labeling, and documentation)
• Develop and refine your own processes and build a culture of quality from day one
• Collaborate directly with founder to catch issues early and flag improvements
Looking Ahead
This position is designed to grow into a Manufacturing Lead role.
As we scale, you'll take on additional responsibility across:
• Vendor sourcing, qualification, and relationship management
• Inventory planning, purchasing, and stock control
• Quality control: developing inspection processes, tracking defects, and driving root cause analysis
• Hiring and mentoring additional shop technicians
• Shaping manufacturing processes to support higher production volumes
What You Bring:
• Hands-on experience building electrical control panels or similar electromechanical assemblies
• Confidence reading electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, or industrial control systems
• Experience with DIN rail assembly, panel layout, and labeling
• Experience fabricating and terminating cables (crimping, soldering, heat-shrink, etc.)
• A systematic approach to testing and troubleshooting that ensures you don't ship something you haven't verified
• Self-directed work style, meaning you can take a set of drawings and run with it
• Attention to detail and a high personal standard for workmanship
• Comfortable working in a startup environment where processes are still being built
Nice To Have:
• Experience with enclosure fabrication, cable fabrication, cable kitting
• Background in inventory management or supply chain, including vendor management and purchasing
• Prior experience creating or improving manufacturing documentation (SOPs, travelers, BOMs)
• Any formal training in electrical or electromechanical technology
What We Offer:
• Base compensation of $60K-$85K annually + potential for performance bonus
• Medical and dental insurance
• Paid time off
• 401K with company match
• Direct access to founders and clients
• A clear, fast path to a senior role as the company grows
• The chance to build something from the ground up and put your stamp on how we manufacture
To apply, send us your resume along with a brief note about your background, what draws you to this role, and why you think you’d be a good fit, along with any photos or examples of panels or assemblies you've built.
