Job Description

The Painter prepares and finishes interior and exterior doors and related surfaces to a professional standard. This role focuses on thorough surface preparation, precise application of primers and finish coats, and consistent adherence to quality and safety practices while collaborating with team members to meet project timelines and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare interior and exterior doors by cleaning, sanding, and smoothing surfaces to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
  • Fill minor imperfections, such as small dents or surface defects, to create an even, uniform painting surface.
  • Remove and reinstall hardware as needed to allow for complete and clean coverage of all surfaces.
  • Set up work areas efficiently, organizing materials, tools, and equipment for smooth workflow.
  • Apply primers, sealers, and finish coats using rollers and brushes to achieve smooth, even, and consistent coverage.
  • Follow specified drying times and coating techniques to ensure durable, high‑quality finishes.
  • Inspect painted surfaces and perform touch‑ups or corrections to meet established quality standards.
  • Maintain tools, brushes, rollers, and equipment in good working condition through regular cleaning and care.
  • Keep workspaces clean, organized, and free of hazards to support a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks, meet project schedules, and fulfill customer expectations.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience with interior and exterior painting of doors and similar surfaces.
  • Proficiency in sanding and smoothing surfaces to prepare for painting.
  • Ability to perform detailed paint preparation, including cleaning, masking, and filling minor imperfections.
  • Skilled in using paint rollers and brushes to apply primers, sealers, and finish coats evenly.
  • Knowledge of proper drying times and coating techniques to achieve professional-grade results.
  • Capability to maintain painting tools and equipment in safe, functional condition.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team to meet project timelines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with commercial painting projects.
  • Exposure to sandblasting and industrial painting environments.
  • Familiarity with various types of industrial paints and coatings.
  • Comfort working with different painting tools, including rollers, brushes, and related prep equipment.

Work Environment

This is a Permanent position based out of Green Bay, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $28.00/hr.
