Under direct supervision, the year-round part-time Maintenance Crew Worker is responsible for maintaining the grounds of county-owned property. This position performs semi-skilled maintenance tasks, operates various equipment, and assists with other duties as assigned to ensure facilities and grounds remain safe, functional, and attractive for public use.
- Mow, trim, and edge lawns using commercial lawn mowers and other groundskeeping equipment.
- Perform landscaping duties such as planting, mulching, pruning, and leaf removal.
- Collect and dispose of trash and debris from county properties.
- Maintain sports fields, walking trails, playgrounds, and other park areas.
- Inspect and perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools.
- Assist with set-up and breakdown for special events as assigned.
- Perform minor repairs to park facilities and structures.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Setting up, breaking down, and working special events.
- Ability to operate and maintain commercial lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other related equipment.
- Knowledge of landscaping and grounds maintenance techniques.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects weighing 75–100 lbs.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and work independently or in a team.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience operating commercial mowing and landscaping equipment preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to extreme weather conditions, loud noise, dust, and chemicals. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, and operating heavy equipment.
