About the Company
Our client is one of the Southeast's largest independent food distributors, founded in 1981 with over four decades of established relationships across retail, foodservice, and distribution channels. With a dominant position in poultry — serving major QSR accounts and independent retailers throughout Florida and the Southeast — they're now aggressively expanding their beef and pork category. The foundation is solid. The growth opportunity is real. Distribution center managers average 10+ years of tenure. Ownership is directly accessible — no corporate bureaucracy, no layers. This is a company that makes decisions fast and backs its people.
About the Role
This is a hunter role. The company has minimal beef and pork presence in Tampa relative to what the market can bear — and they know it. They’re looking for someone who walks in with relationships, knows the protein landscape, and doesn’t need to be told what to do next. You’ll be targeting untouched segments: hotels, healthcare, specialty retail, independent groceries, butcher shops, and restaurant groups. The customers exist. The supply is in place. What’s missing is the right person to open those doors.
