About the Role


This is a hunter role. The company has minimal beef and pork presence in Tampa relative to what the market can bear — and they know it. They’re looking for someone who walks in with relationships, knows the protein landscape, and doesn’t need to be told what to do next. You’ll be targeting untouched segments: hotels, healthcare, specialty retail, independent groceries, butcher shops, and restaurant groups. The customers exist. The supply is in place. What’s missing is the right person to open those doors.


Responsibilities:

  • Build and close new beef and pork accounts across Tampa territory
  • Penetrate untapped channels: hotel, medical, specialty retail, foodservice
  • Leverage existing relationships to generate new revenue
  • Operate independently; identify and pursue opportunities without waiting for direction
  • Represent company across retail, restaurant, and distribution customer segments
  • Collaborate directly with ownership on strategy, pricing, and deal structure


Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years in protein or food distribution sales (beef, pork, or poultry strongly preferred)
  • Established book of business or active relationships with buyers in Central Florida
  • Proven track record of independently sourcing and closing new accounts
  • Deep familiarity with at least one of the following channels: foodservice, independent retail, distribution, specialty/butcher
  • Self-directed; comfortable in a lean, entrepreneurial environment without corporate infrastructure


Preferred Skills

  • Existing relationships in Tampa market
  • Experience selling into hotel, healthcare, or institutional foodservice segments
  • Background transitioning from a structured corporate environment with a portable book of business
  • Familiarity with QSR, chain, or national account dynamics as a complement to independent account experience


Pay range and compensation package:

  • Base salary + uncapped commission (5% GP standard / 10% GP on marination products)
  • Total comp target: $85k - $120k+ for high performers
  • Structure negotiable for candidates with demonstrated revenue-generation history
