  • Responsible for the overall supervision of operational procedures at MCCS Outdoor Equipment Centers including rental, repair/maintenance program, and checking out procedures for all Outdoor Recreation equipment. Reconciles daily deposits of rentals with corresponding activity reports in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Coordinates with Personnel Office on personnel requirements. Responsible for ensuring that all SOPs are enforced and followed and safe operation of the Outdoor Recreation Center, ensuring that all equipment is in safe and operative condition. Conducts property inventories. Incumbent is assigned to the outdoor recreation program and will consist of activities as they relate to the scope of equipment contained within outdoor rec. and the programs of MCCS. Support may include specialized recreational activities such as the following: Boating/Fishing, Camping, Family/Youth Activities, Fitness/Athletic events, Field Meets, Family Days, Command party and picnics, and self-directed activities of authorized patrons. Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity. Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of program participants. Demonstrates procedures common to the activities and instructs in the use of related equipment. Conducts instructional classes and safety demonstrations of all recreational equipment, coordinate details of recreational activities, and maintains related supplies. Assists in planning, scheduling and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants. Incumbent will maintain inventory, clean/check equipment for use and safety, conduct minor repair and maintenance, schedule for DRMO defective equipment beyond its serviceable life, and follow all procedures as they relate to the operation of the department. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. May oversee sale of retail items associated with activities, collect rental fees, and data input of items using the RecTrac computer system. Oversee daily operations of the vehicle storage facility, including vehicle intake, storage, and release procedures. Ensure the security and safety of all stored vehicles by monitoring and maintaining surveillance and access control systems. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle inventory, including detailed documentation of vehicle condition and storage information. Coordinate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to support efficient operations and promptly resolve inquiries or issues. Implement and enforce safety protocols while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. Conduct routine inspections of the facility to maintain cleanliness, organization, and overall operational efficiency. Prepare and analyze reports on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions to enhance productivity and service quality. Supervises employees to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Must be alert to alcohol abuse and take appropriate action. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Performs other related duties as assigned.
