An Oracle PPM Functional Consultant specializes in implementing and supporting Project Portfolio Management (PPM) solutions within the Oracle Corporation ecosystem—primarily Oracle Fusion Cloud PPM.
Here’s a precise breakdown of the role:
🔹 Core Responsibilities
1. Business Process Analysis
- Gather and analyze client requirements for project management, costing, and billing
- Map business needs to Oracle PPM modules
- Conduct fit-gap analysis
2. Module Expertise
Typical modules an Oracle PPM functional consultant works on:
- Project Financial Management (Costing, Billing, Revenue)
- Project Execution Management
- Resource Management
- Project Portfolio Management
- Grants Management (if applicable)
3. Configuration & Setup
- Configure project templates, task structures, and financial plans
- Set up cost rates, burden schedules, and billing cycles
- Define project accounting rules
4. Implementation Lifecycle
- Participate in end-to-end implementations (RFP → Go-Live → Support)
- Prepare functional design documents (FDDs)
- Support testing phases: SIT, UAT
5. Integration & Collaboration
- Work with technical teams for integrations (ERP, HCM, Procurement)
- Coordinate with stakeholders, project managers, and business users
6. Support & Optimization
- Provide post-go-live support
- Identify process improvements and system enhancements
