The ideal candidate will have a strong Oracle background to support core database administration focused on Oracle databases. He/ she should be able to lead the customer call and provide design level support to the customers in scope and share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members. He/ she is required to manage Oracle Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems as well as to configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide L3+ support for core database administration focused on Oracle databases.
  • Responsible for delivering Oracle DBA services to the customer.
  • Interact with clients over calls and provide details and reasoning of the deliverables.
  • Accountable to lead the customer call and provide design level support to the client.
  • Manage Oracle Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems.
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
  • Provide escalated technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status.
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement.
  • Provide on-call support for critical production systems.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release of deployment activities after hours.
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
  • Experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language and experience with software deployment.
  • Knowledge of network architecture and protocols.


BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • * Bachelor"s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.

    * 7+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in enterprise-scale environments.

    * Provide L3+ support for core database administration focused on Oracle database

    * Lead a team of L2 and L3 DBA"s.

    * Responsible for delivering the DBA services to the customer.

    * Interacting with client over calls and provide details and reasoning of the deliverables.

    * Db Upgrade experience.

    * Adding and resizing of ASM disk groups.

    * Installation and troubleshooting in RAC and Grid.

    * Strong experience with Oracle 12c/19c, Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, and RMAN.

    * Proven track record of migrating databases across data centers and/or cloud platforms.

    * Proficiency in scripting and automation using Shell, PL/SQL, and experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

    * Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work across technical and business teams.

    * Strong experience in Automating DB tasks, health checks, blocking, disk space, Maintenance tasks etc.

    * Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, etc.)

    * Experience in PowerShell scripting automation will be a plus.

    * Experience in implementing operational automation.

    * Be available for on-call support as needed.

    * Multi-customer work experience and managed service format.

    * Deploy and maintain high availability and failover technologies such as Active Data Guard, RAC.

    * Create, clone and upgrade database environments to support implementation activities.

    * Define, implement and support database backup and recovery policies using RMAN and/or storage replication technologies.

    * Working knowledge of ITIL processes.

    * Perform database restoration and recovery in the event of a failure.

    * Ensure sensitive data is appropriately protected via industry standard encryption solutions.

    * Contribute to, and update, systems documentation as required.

    * Participate in providing 24x7 support on rotational basis to ensure operations of these critical systems for different customers.

    * Knowledge on DB Security viz. AVDF, DB Vault, Oracle Key Vault, e-Wallet, TDE would be added advantage.

    * Azure data fundamentals related to certification and/or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Expert (OCM) preferred.
