Join a leading name in eye care-Wills Eye Hospital is expanding!


Our suburban satellite practices are seeking part-time optometrists to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. You'll work alongside highly respected physicians specializing in cataract, cornea, and anterior segment care in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.


This is a unique opportunity to grow your clinical expertise while practicing at the forefront of ophthalmic care, supported by one of the nation's premier eye institutions.


What You'll Do

  • Provide comprehensive eye examinations and vision care independently
  • Conduct post-operative evaluations and collaborate closely with ophthalmologists
  • Perform urgent care work-ups and triage patients appropriately
  • Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and macular degeneration
  • Fit and manage routine, specialty, and medically necessary contact lenses, including keratoconus and post-corneal transplant patients
  • Utilize diagnostic testing and interpret findings to guide clinical decision-making
  • Document all patient encounters accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Coordinate care by preparing referrals and communicating with primary care providers and specialists
  • Partner with optical and clinical staff to deliver a seamless, high-quality patient experience


What We're Looking For

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program
  • Strong clinical skills with a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-based setting
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness to participate in insurance credentialing and adhere to compliance standards (HIPAA, Medicare guidelines, etc.)


Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • Part-time schedule with Mondays and Wednesdays required
  • Option to add an additional day
  • No evenings, no weekends, and no on-call responsibilities

Position Requirements & Education:

  • OD degree from an accredited School of Optometry


Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year required.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of and to apply the principles, theories, practices, and techniques of optometric practice, including anatomy, physiology, pathology, and mechanics of the human eye, visual processes, and detailed knowledge of ocular pharmacology and therapeutics.


Certification/Licensure:

  • Current Pennsylvania license from the State Board of Optometry.
