Opto-Mechanical Assembly Technician

G5 Infrared, LLC is a small business based in Hudson, New Hampshire, specializing in high-performance infrared imaging cameras and thin film coatings. We are seeking a skilled Opto-Mechanical Assembler to join our team.

Position Summary

The Opto-Mechanical Assembler will be responsible for assembling, inspecting, and performing acceptance testing on complex opto-mechanical systems. This role requires the ability to work independently using engineering drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, test procedures, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and validate precision opto-mechanical assemblies in strict accordance with established procedures
• Perform optical alignment using specialized equipment such as interferometers, radius benches, alignment telescopes, and autocollimators
• Use standardized tools and electronic equipment to complete mechanical assemblies
• Conduct in-process inspections and tests throughout the production cycle
• Collaborate with engineers on special builds and experimental projects following detailed instructions

Required Skills

• Strong experience with optical alignment and measurement equipment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• High attention to detail and precision workmanship
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in opto-mechanical assembly or related field
• Associate degree (2-year) in a related science or technical discipline required
