The scheduled hours are 24 hours per week. Seeking candidate with flexibility to work during clinic hours ofMonday 9:00a – 7:00p, Tuesday -Thursday 7:00a – 7:00p, Friday 7:00a – 4:00p What You'll DoGreets and assists patients in a timely and friendly mannerVerifies vision benefits and relays any pertinent insurance benefit information prior to material purchasesAnswers phones and directs calls appropriatelyAccesses data base to schedule, confirm and update appointments as necessaryAnswers patient questions regarding their account, obtains assistance if necessaryVerifies eligibility for all 'walk-in' and same-day patients as necessarySafely operates optical machineryAssists patient with materials purchasesOrders and dispenses materials according to vision center policies and proceduresRepairs spectacles as brought in by patientsHandles patient complaints/issues regarding materials according to policies, obtains assistance if necessaryChecks out patients and documents material sales and/or payment collection from patient on encounter formsObtains and documents vision insurance benefit authorizations for exams and materialsCoordinate referral appointments for patients for diagnostic testing, evaluations, and treatment based on insurance type and according to provider-stated urgencyDocuments and reports back to providers if unable to complete referral as requestedMaintains daily log and balances deposit daily on cash log in the dispensaryMaintain medical record system for the vision centerFile reports, labs, progress notes, prescriptions, and other incoming optometric reportsPull charts upon requestMaintains appropriate quality control logsResponsible for accessing voice mail messages and coordinating follow-up in a timely fashionEnsures that all encounter forms are complete and accurateForwards all necessary paperwork to appropriate sources or agenciesObtain prescriptions or orders from outside optometrists/ophthalmologists as necessaryEnter information into computer in a timely mannerAccesses faxed and mailed reports from specialists, forwards then to ordering provider for review, and ensures placement, along with other pertinent paperwork into the patient's chart, as per protocolMay require other duties as assignedWhat You'll BringLicensed in state of practiceHigh School diploma or equivalentWork-life balance is at the foundation of how decisions are made and where Premise is headed.
