Paul Phillips Eye & Surgery Center is a physician-owned multi-specialty ophthalmic practice that offers comprehensive eyecare services in surgical and medical retina, cataract and refractive surgery, uveitis, glaucoma, oculoplasties, contact lens fitting and supply, and full service optical. The main location is in Flemington, NJ with two satellite offices in Bridgewater, NJ and Clinton, NJ.

Who You Are

We are actively seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support a busy, high-volume ophthalmic practice committed to delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong medical background, excellent customer service skills, and a compassionate, empathetic approach to patient interactions. Attention to detail is essential, along with the ability to anticipate and meet patient needs while maintaining a consistent focus on quality care.

What You'll Do

  • Make introductions and establish rapport with patients. Initiate patient evaluation and document history.
  • Perform test to assess visual acuity.
  • Perform diagnostic testing such as visual fields, OCT, Optos, fundus photography and corneal topography.
  • Assist physicians during the patient exams.
  • Administer eye drops and ointments to the eye as ordered by the physician.
  • Perform office duties and clinical tasks and enter data in the electronic health record system (EHR).
  • Maintain and sanitize equipment and instruments and clean and prepare rooms between patients.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Must be willing to travel to other office locations as required
  • Must be able to work at least one evening per week and an occasional Saturday

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One year of specialized ophthalmic experience is desirable or completion of on-the job training upon hiring
  • Medical office experience is required
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA)

Hourly pay rate: starting at $21.-$26. per hour depending on experience
