Job Title: Ophthalmic Technician (Ophthalmology Clinic)

Join a top-tier health system in Manhattan with state-of-the-art outpatient specialty practices located in Midtown and Washington Heights. We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Ophthalmic Technician to support a high-volume ophthalmology team delivering exceptional eye care.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with hands-on experience in ophthalmology who may not yet hold formal certification but are eager to grow within a premier clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including medical and ocular history documentation
- Conduct visual acuity testing and preliminary eye assessments
- Administer diagnostic testing (e.g., visual fields, OCT, tonometry)
- Assist physicians with examinations and minor in-office procedures
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, instruments, and equipment
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and follow-up care
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to optimize patient flow
Qualifications
- Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician OR Medical Assistant in an ophthalmology clinic required
- Strong familiarity with ophthalmic testing and equipment
- Certification (COT/COA) not required
- Excellent patient care and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting
- EMR experience preferred

- Rotating coverage between Midtown and Washington Heights outpatient locations
