Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the Show Me Center, including cleaning, event setup, and conversions
  • Supervision of a crew of Operations Journeymen, including hands-on leadership, creating work schedules, and ensuring proper coverage for daily activities and special events
  • Oversight of the maintenance of the Show Me Center’s physical infrastructure, including identifying needs for repairs, maintenance schedules, and operational improvements
  • Oversight and coordination of operations tasks within the Show Me Center, including work orders, custodial duties, event changeovers, and maintenance projects
  • Proactively monitor resources, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety guidelines and University policies
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to ensure the Show Me Center is compliant with all applicable safety codes, regulations, and industry standards, and implement corrective actions as required
  • Maintain and track the inventory of building supplies, equipment, and maintenance materials, ensuring that inventory levels are adequate to meet operational needs
  • Advise the Show Me Center leadership during union negotiations and support the preparation of relevant documentation, such as job descriptions and disciplinary actions
  • Review all technical information related to shows and events, evaluating whether the facility is equipped to host them, and ensure adherence to safety procedures and University policies
  • Serve as primary liaison between the operations crew and other departments, ensuring clear communication and coordination regarding event setups, load-ins, repairs, and ongoing operations
  • Provide professional, high-quality customer service to various clients, including students, University departments, and external constituents
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in or with the trades
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience working in a supervisory/lead role at an arena or other public assembly facility
  • General knowledge of Operating Union operations and policies
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in safety codes, facility management practices, and production coordination
  • Knowledge of structural steel and evert rigging
  • Knowledge and experience reading and understanding blueprints, technical drawings, and other documents relating to architecture or an engineering design
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of customer service
  • Valid driver’s license is required
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry 50 pounds or more, as well as push and pull 75 pounds or more
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch on a frequent basis as part of job responsibilities
