Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA) MID HOW AN OPERATIONS RESEARCH SYSTEMS ANALYST MID WILL MAKE AN IMPACT Our work depends on a Mid‑Level Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA) to provide advanced quantitative analysis and decision support to defense and security efforts within the Pacific theater. The ORSA will apply mathematical modeling, systems analysis, statistics, simulation, and operational research techniques to help optimize intelligence processes and support data driven decision-making across the Indo Pacific theater. As a Mid Level ORSA, you will:Develop and apply mathematical models and optimization techniques to improve intelligence operational efficiency.Conduct systematic analyses of operational processes to identify inefficiencies and propose evidence‑based solutions.Create discrete‑event simulations to model complex operational scenarios and assess alternative courses of action.Apply decision analysis techniques to support risk assessment and strategic planning under uncertainty.Develop and maintain Measures of Performance (MOPs), Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs), and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Evaluate system performance against established metrics using rigorous quantitative methods.Prepare detailed analytical reports, briefings, and visualizations that communicate complex findings to technical and non‑technical audiences.Brief analytical results to senior leadership to support data‑driven decision‑making.Provide quantitative analysis support to operational planning teams and strategic initiatives.Develop custom analytical tools, models, and approaches tailored to specific mission requirements.Actively participate in JIOC planning conferences and exercises, J2 working groups, intelligence system capability development meetings, Joint‑ and national‑level coordination boards, and technical exchange meetings with mission partners. WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI w/ polygraph Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or a related analytical field. 3-5 yrs related experience. At least a portion of your experience must be in the last 2 yrs. Required Skills:Demonstrated experience applying operations research methodologies and mathematical programming to real‑world problems.Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and experimental design principles.Proficiency in simulation modeling and associated analysis tools.Understanding of decision analysis and optimization methods.Skill in data visualization and presenting quantitative results to diverse audiences.Experience using analytical software such as R, Python, MATLAB, or equivalent tools.Ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights.Strong problem‑solving skills, critical thinking ability, and quantitative reasoning.Effective communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non‑technical leaders and stakeholders. Preferred Skills:Experience supporting the DoW, intelligence community, or national‑security operations.Familiarity with big‑data tools, intelligence systems, and multi‑INT workflows.Experience developing dashboards and visualizations for senior‑level decision‑makers.
