Roles & Responsibilities:
Apply advanced analytical and mathematical techniques to make difficult policy and acquisition decisions, to maximize operational effectiveness and efficiency, and achieve highest quality engineering solutions
Present results in an intuitive, actionable manner that can be understood by all sponsor audiences, regardless of technical expertise
Work independently and/or collaborate with a team of technical staff
Work successfully in a hybrid environment with in-person presence
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree
Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
Good understanding of principles, concepts, methods and tools for conducting operations research, statistical analysis, and data analytic studies
Have experience in using tools and techniques to do mathematical modeling, optimization, statistics, probability modeling, and simulation
Good udnerstanding of optimization package and simulations platforms
Demonstrated ability to use at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, RStudio, Java)
Must be a U.S. citizen capable of obtaining & maintaining U.S. security clearance
Per the U.S. Government's eligibility requirements, you must be a U.S. Citizen to be considered for a security clearance.
GPA must be listed for all degrees received within past 3 years
This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site presence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference given to qualified candidates with active clearance
Masters degree is preferred.
Experience using at least one optimization package (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX, PuLP, AMPL)
Proficiency with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, RStudio, Java)
Experience using at least one simulation platform (e.g., Stella, Simio, Arena, AnyLogic, SimPy, RSimmer)
Experience working with/for agencies and/or departments of the US Government (e.g., FAA, DoD, DoE, DHS, Treasury, IRS)
Be passionate about applying operations research, statistics, and data analytics to real world problems
Be willing to adapt and learn
