Join an award-winning team in the logistics industry. Road & Rail Services is seeking a proactive, experienced leader to serve as Switching Operations Manager. This individual will oversee daily operations in a fast-paced rail yard environment, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and customer requirements.
You'll be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of site performance, leading teams and developing personnel to achieve excellence in safety and service delivery.
What You Bring to the Table:
Must-Haves:
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience
- Prior railroad or rail yard switching experience
- The ability to thrive in a high-volume, high-pressure, outdoor environment
- Excellent attendance and punctuality
- A valid state driver's license
- A high school diploma or GED
- A "Safety First" mindset and the ability to model our Core Principles
Nice-to-Haves:
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- A positive, team-first attitude with a willingness to learn
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain full compliance with all customer, industry, and company safety regulations.
- Provide effective leadership by hiring, coaching, promoting, or disciplining team members as needed.
- Monitor and ensure all team members adhere to SOPs and work instructions.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying process efficiencies and service enhancements.
- Set clear developmental and performance goals, offering support and accountability.
- Embody ethical practices in all decision-making and operational oversight.
