Operations Manager (Food Manufacturing)
Location: Trenton, NJ (100% Onsite)
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize day-to-day operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role will be instrumental in driving operational efficiency, leading cross-functional teams, and overseeing the implementation of a new ERP system to enhance visibility, reporting, and overall business performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting and can balance strategic initiatives with execution.
Must have experience in food manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations across production, logistics, and internal functions to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery
- ERP Implementation: Lead the selection, implementation, and optimization of an ERP system (e.g., SAP, NetSuite), ensuring adoption across departments
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve productivity, reduce waste, and streamline workflows
- Financial Oversight: Partner with finance to manage budgets, monitor performance, and drive cost efficiencies across labor and materials
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop cross-functional teams, fostering accountability, communication, and continuous improvement
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all food safety and regulatory standards, including FDA, USDA, HACCP, and OSHA
- Production Optimization: Collaborate with plant leadership to improve throughput, address bottlenecks, and manage supply chain challenges
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track KPIs to measure operational success and guide decision-making
- Change Management: Drive key initiatives including system implementations, process upgrades, and operational improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Food Science, or related field (MBA preferred)
- 8+ years of operations leadership experience, including experience in food or manufacturing environments
- Proven experience leading or implementing ERP systems within an operational setting
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, HACCP)
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional teams and driving performance
