Operations Improvement & Systems Lead - Warehouse Process, Automation & Internal Tools

Frankly Fulfillment

About Frankly Fulfillment

Frankly Fulfillment is a fast-growing third-party logistics company serving ecommerce brands with direct-to-consumer fulfillment, wholesale fulfillment, FBA prep, and value-added warehouse services.

We help brands scale by combining reliable warehouse execution with responsive service, practical problem-solving, and flexible operations.

We are entering a major growth phase and expanding into a new facility that is more than double the size of our current footprint. This move gives us significantly more room for storage, processing, automation, and future growth.

As we scale, we are investing heavily in better systems, better workflows, stronger reporting, smarter tools, and a team structure that can support the next stage of growth. This role is a key part of that buildout.

Position Overview

Frankly Fulfillment is looking for an Operations Improvement & Systems Lead to help build the operating system of the company.

This is a hands-on, builder role.

You will walk the warehouse floor, understand how work actually happens, identify where things break, and personally help fix them — through better processes, better systems, better tools, and better visibility.

This is not:

  • a traditional IT role
  • a desk-only analyst role
  • a warehouse supervisor role
  • a strategy-only role

We are not looking for someone who only identifies problems.

We are looking for someone who owns them through execution.

This Role Is NOT a Fit If
  • You prefer a mostly remote or desk-based role
  • You want to focus only on analysis without execution
  • You are looking for a pure IT/helpdesk position
  • You prefer giving recommendations rather than building solutions
  • You are uncomfortable being in a warehouse environment regularly

What You’ll OwnProcess Improvement

Identify where work breaks down and fix it:

  • messy handoffs
  • repeat mistakes
  • manual workarounds
  • unclear ownership
  • slow workflows
  • lack of visibility
  • undocumented processes

You will turn these into clear, usable workflows that actually stick.

Systems & Workflow Optimization

Improve how we use systems like ShipHero and connected tools:

  • clean up exception handling
  • reduce unnecessary manual steps
  • align systems with real-world workflows
  • improve consistency across teams
  • fix the gap between “how it should work” and “how it actually works”

Reporting, Dashboards & Visibility

Make the business easier to manage:

  • build reports and dashboards
  • surface bottlenecks early
  • track recurring issues
  • give leadership and team leads real visibility
  • create simple ways to see what needs attention

Automation, AI & Internal Tools

Use modern tools to make the company more efficient:

  • reduce repetitive manual work
  • build no-code / low-code tools
  • prototype internal apps
  • improve spreadsheets and workflows
  • use AI to solve real operational problems

You do not need to be a full engineer — but you should be someone who can figure things out and build practical solutions quickly.

SOPs, Documentation & Rollout

Turn messy processes into clear systems:

  • write and improve SOPs
  • document workflows
  • support training and rollout
  • ensure adoption (not just documentation)

Cross-Functional Problem Solving

You will work across:

  • warehouse operations
  • inbound / inventory
  • outbound / shipping
  • client success
  • billing / reporting
  • leadership

Your job is to help the entire operation run cleaner and more consistently.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing (Real Examples)
  • figuring out why orders keep getting stuck on hold
  • identifying why the same inventory issues repeat
  • turning a manual spreadsheet process into an automated workflow
  • building a dashboard to track daily operational issues
  • documenting a process that currently lives in one person’s head
  • using AI tools to prototype a simple internal app
  • fixing a broken workflow in our WMS
  • helping a team reduce repetitive manual work
  • implementing a change and tracking whether it actually worked

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is:

  • hands-on and practical
  • highly organized
  • curious and resourceful
  • strong at root-cause problem solving
  • comfortable across systems, operations, and people
  • comfortable in a warehouse environment
  • able to move from idea → execution → follow-through
  • able to take messy problems and turn them into clear solutions
  • strong communicator with both floor teams and leadership

Required Experience / Skills

Strong candidates will likely have experience in one or more of:

  • warehouse or fulfillment operations
  • operations systems or business operations
  • process improvement / workflow design
  • reporting, dashboards, or data analysis
  • internal tools, automation, or systems optimization

You should:

  • have strong problem-solving ability
  • be comfortable with systems, spreadsheets, and tools
  • be able to understand both floor-level processes and system logic
  • have experience improving workflows, SOPs, or reporting
  • be comfortable learning and using new tools quickly

AI / Tools Expectation

You should be comfortable using AI tools to move faster, including:

  • drafting SOPs
  • analyzing messy data
  • prototyping tools or workflows
  • writing or improving scripts
  • figuring out solutions even when you don’t already know the exact answer

Nice to Have
  • experience with ShipHero or another WMS
  • ecommerce fulfillment / 3PL experience
  • no-code / low-code tools (Make, Zapier, Airtable, etc.)
  • Google Apps Script, APIs, or basic scripting
  • Looker Studio or similar reporting tools

Travel

Travel may be required as we expand to additional locations.

What Success Looks LikeFirst 90 Days
  • you understand major workflows across the business
  • recurring issues are being tracked and organized
  • several broken processes are improved or documented
  • leadership has better visibility into problems
  • teams start relying on you to fix things

Longer Term
  • fewer repeat issues
  • fewer manual workarounds
  • cleaner handoffs between teams
  • better dashboards and reporting
  • strong SOP adoption
  • improved use of systems like ShipHero
  • internal tools that save time and reduce errors
  • less founder involvement in day-to-day problem solving
  • a more scalable operation overall

Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation: $70,000–$85,000 (based on experience and technical ability)
  • PTO
  • 401(k)
  • Medical stipend/bonus
  • Growth opportunities as the company scales
