Operations Engineering Technician – Scale-Up


This is a temp-to-perm position and comes with OT potential and a positive work environment within an extremely stable company in the chemical manufacturing space. This will be a day shift role, but candidates who are flexible are preferred as there may be needs in the future on other shifts.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Operational Flow Management: Monitor and interpret continuous-process trends to ensure system stability. Execute precise control adjustments to maintain parameters and mitigate process deviations.
  • Hardware Oversight: Hands-on operation and troubleshooting of industrial equipment, including high-pressure compressors, pump systems, heaters, and flow controllers.
  • System Diagnostics: Identify the root cause of process upsets at the source and implement immediate mechanical or manual corrective actions.
  • Schematic Literacy: Utilize P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and mechanical drawings to navigate plant architecture and support process changes.


Candidate Requirements

  • Process Background: Minimum of 2 years of experience within a continuous-flow manufacturing or production environment. Direct experience in a pilot-scale or pilot plant setting is highly preferred.
  • Mechanical Expertise: Strong mechanical aptitude with the capability to perform physical, hands-on tasks and equipment maintenance as required.
  • Industry : Prior experience within a chemical processing environment is a significant asset but not a mandatory requirement.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze operational data and suggest appropriate control moves to optimize the process. '
