Position Summary
The Operations & Compliance Coordinator is a highly versatile role that supports food safety compliance, field inspections, accounting, payroll, administrative operations, and special projects. This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with food safety regulations while providing essential support to the accounting and administrative functions of the business.
The ideal candidate is a quick learner with strong judgment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. This individual must be comfortable transitioning between field inspections, compliance documentation, accounting support, administrative tasks, and process improvement initiatives as business needs change throughout the year.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and is willing to support the organization wherever needed—from conducting field inspections and developing SOPs to filing documents and assisting with payroll processing.
Food Safety, Compliance & Field Operations
- Conduct routine field inspections to verify compliance with company food safety programs, customer requirements, and industry standards.
- Perform and document field risk assessments, waterway inspections, adjacent land-use evaluations, and pre-harvest assessments.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with GAP, LGMA, FSMA, customer requirements, and third-party audit standards.
- Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), forms, training materials, and compliance records.
- Assist in identifying issues, investigating root causes, and documenting corrective actions.
- Coordinate and support third-party audits.
- Maintain food safety records and audit-ready documentation.
- Prepare and maintain crop maps using Adobe Illustrator.
- Support employee training and compliance initiatives.
Accounting, Administrative & Operational Support
- Support Accounts Payable, payroll processing, account reconciliations, and other accounting functions.
- Assist with journal entries, data entry, reporting, and document management.
- Maintain fixed asset and regulatory records.
- Pull invoices, file documents, make copies, scan records, and provide general administrative support.
- Assist with seed orders, operational reporting, and special projects.
- Compile, organize, and analyze information as needed.
- Support department operations and assist with various business needs throughout the year.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Agribusiness, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new software, systems, regulations, and business processes quickly.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Agribusiness, Operations Management, or related field.
- Experience in accounting, payroll, accounts payable, compliance, auditing, food safety, or business operations.
- Experience developing SOPs, process documentation, workflows, or corrective action plans.
- Bilingual English and Spanish.
Compensation
Salary range $48,000 – $65,000 depending on qualifications and experience.

Work Environment
This position requires work both in an office environment and in agricultural field settings. The successful candidate must be able to walk ranches, conduct field inspections, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and travel between field locations as needed.
