OPERATIONS & ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST (Senior) TS SCI Required

Akima Systems Engineering is looking for an Operations and Administrative Specialist to join our team at MacDill AFB, FL. This position provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and coordination support to joint training and readiness activities across the JELC. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating calendars for planning conferences, working groups, and readiness events; tracking milestones, timelines, and deliverables; and ensuring that required products are submitted on schedule in alignment with CCMD and TSOC priorities.


Responsibilities

Support shall span the full lifecycle of USSOCOM collective training and readiness events to include but not limited to:

 

Governance and advisory support for: 

  • Provide command-level readiness insight, decision support, and integration guidance.
  • Recommend improvements to planning systems, battle rhythm flows, information routing, and risk logic.
  • Track unit, staff, and enterprise-level readiness trends over time.
  • Deliver non-directive advisory support that strengthens decision-making, enhances integration awareness, and informs commander understanding.

Support activities may include but are not limited to:

  • Providing domain-specific guidance to staff and command groups.
  • Assisting with planning logic, synchronization across warfighting functions, decision framing, and prioritization.
  • Advising during distributed or in-person readiness events, providing real-time and post-event recommendations that advance SOF-CF integration and mission command proficiency.

 


Qualifications

Senior Leader Interface & Communications 

  • Prepared and delivered:
    • Commander’s update briefs
    • Operational summaries
    • Training synchronization products
  • Direct coordination with:
    • SOF unit leadership.
    • TSOC / Component / Joint staff.

Daily Operations / Battle Rhythm Management

  • Demonstrated responsibility for:
    • Current operations tracking.
    • Fragmentary tasking & suspense management.
    • Resource / range / airspace / training area deconfliction.
    • Operational reporting & executive summaries.
    • Cross-functional staff integration.

Microsoft Office in Operational Environment.

  • 8+ years applied use for mission support: 
    • Excel → trackers, readiness status, training calendars, task management.
    • PowerPoint → commander update briefs / exercise updates.
    • Outlook → battle rhythm / coordination.
    • Word → OPORD support, EXSUMs, operational products.
  • 12+ years SOF tactical & operational planning / mission execution / training coordination.
  • Former O-3+ / CW2+ / E-7+.
  • 8+ years within the last 5 years in an operations-focused role.
  • Managed multi-echelon SOF exercises, events, and long-range training calendars.
  • Owned planning, scheduling, deconfliction, and execution oversight.
  • Synchronized staff sections, subordinate units, and higher HQ requirements.
