Operator Mechanics help control, operate, and maintain machinery to generate steam and electricity. These team members use control systems to operate equipment remotely and regulate the output of the boilers. In addition, Operating Mechanics monitor instruments to control voltage, temperature, pressure and steam flows from the plant to meet fluctuating consumer demand throughout the day.

Core Responsibilities
  • Mechanics in this role will perform operational functions; including the operation of boilers, fans, pumps, and all auxiliary equipment in a steam generating station.
  • Mechanics engage in mechanical maintenance tasks and heavy manual labor.
  • Mechanics must be able to flex into all of the station's various operating posts including, but not limited to: Rover, Control Room, and perform electrical high tension switching.
  • Mechanics will perform work involving steam production, working with steam generating boilers, boiler feed pumps and fans and related auxiliary equipment, water treatment systems, and fuel delivery systems.
