Operating Engineer

Our client, a leader in facility management and maintenance services, is seeking an Operating Engineer 2 to join their team. As an Operating Engineer 2, you will be part of the Facilities Support Department supporting maintenance and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Operating Engineer 2

Location: North Charleston, NC

Pay Range: $32-35/hour

Shift: Fri-Mon, 6am-4:30pm

What's the Job?

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within assigned facilities.
• Assist with repairs and inspections of building interior and exterior areas, including fixtures, roofing, lighting, and walls.
• Maintain documentation for fire extinguishers and other building systems to ensure compliance and safety.
• Support plumbing maintenance tasks such as fixing toilets, sinks, water heaters, and piping.
• Conduct general handyman tasks including painting, locksmith work, and tenant service requests to maintain building integrity.

What's Needed?

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office, Outlook, and CMMS systems.
• 1-2 years of related experience in carpentry, electrical, or plumbing work.
• Preferred: EPA Universal License, BAS experience, and HVAC preventative maintenance skills.
