Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer is a key member of the Operations team, responsible for developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes to drive efficiency and performance. This role plays a critical part in establishing production best practices and ensuring daily operations meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and improve production processes, materials, and equipment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams
  • Lead and participate in initiatives to improve labor efficiency and reduce costs
  • Develop plant layouts and optimize product flow using tools such as value stream mapping and bottleneck analysis
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, JIT, visual management systems)
  • Design, procure, and maintain production tooling, fixtures, and equipment
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and design-related issues and implement effective solutions
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) from prototype through production
  • Prepare technical documentation, work instructions, and process reports
  • Lead process capability studies and continuous improvement projects (Six Sigma, Value Engineering)
  • Train and support operators and technicians as needed
  • Manage non-conformance investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar certification preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in high-tech manufacturing environments
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with high-mix, low-volume production and pilot builds
  • Hands-on expertise in CNC machining, MIG/TIG welding, and sheet metal fabrication
  • Familiarity with cleanroom manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency with CAD software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools (Excel, Python)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
