Open Rank/Tenure Track Faculty in Electrical Engineering 2026-2027

Drury University
Springfield, MO

The Engineering Department at Drury University is searching for adventurous spirits to join a small team building new mechanical and electrical engineering programs. Drury University is a small undergraduate-focused liberal arts school in Springfield, Missouri that welcomed its first engineering students in Fall 2024.

We are seeking faculty with a passion for teaching undergraduates and a willingness to teach a variety of undergraduate electrical engineering topics. While candidates from any electrical engineering discipline are welcome to apply, preference will be given to those who have a background in and enthusiasm for teaching analog electronics (including teaching relevant software design tools and introductory PCB layout) or embedded systems/digital design. Preference will also be given to candidates whose interest areas are distinct from existing faculty strengths in signals and systems, controls, and numerical methods.

Requirements include doctorate and baccalaureate degrees in electrical engineering or a closely related field. (Doctorate must be complete by the start of employment.)  Essential job functions include teaching and advising students; service to the department, University, and professional communities; and professional development.

We welcome applications for tenure-track positions from candidates at any rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) to begin fall (August) 2026 or spring (January) 2027.

Applicants please submit:

  • A cover letter which includes your proposed start date (August 2026 or January 2027) and identifies the area that is closest to your teaching passion (analog electronics, embedded systems/digital design, or other).
  • A statement addressing past and/or potential contributions to promoting student success through teaching, professional activity, and/or service. This statement should also discuss your teaching philosophy and accomplishments, while demonstrating that you share our passion for teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.
  • A statement that discusses your professional development objectives. Professional development may include scholarship in all its forms, including the scholarships of discovery, integration, and application.
  • A current curriculum vitae.

Finalist candidates will also be asked to provide contact information for at least three (3) professional references capable of commenting on the appropriateness of your candidacy at Drury University.
