Job Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)

  • 5 - 7 years experience Professional in Nursing or Occupational Health (Required)

  • 2 - 3 years experience in Management project coordination/management (Preferred)

  • Company product lines, resources, benefits and policies

  • In depth understanding and planning of health and wellness initiatives; STD, LTD, FMLA and WC

  • Extensive knowledge of wellness tracking, metrics, and goal setting

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Focusing on company product lines, resources, benefits and policies, as well as planning of health and wellness initiatives

  • Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required

  • Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) Preferred

  • Other Certified Case Manager (CCM) Preferred

Job Overview:

This position exists to provide expert leadership, oversight and management of health and wellness initiatives and programming for client strategic and productivity plans and may include multiple plant location sites, up to nine locations, spouses and early retirees. Incumbent focuses on promotion, protection and restoration of workers' health within the context of a safe and healthy work environment, collaborating with workers, employers and other professionals to: prioritize interventions; develop and implement interventions and programs; evaluate care and service delivery; and maximize productivity and wellness of workers within client companies. The foundation for this position is research-based with an emphasis on optimizing health, preventing illness and injury and reducing health hazards. Depending on client company needs, the incumbent may focus/specialize in one or more of the following areas: disability and workers compensation case management, disease/condition management, injury prevention, first aid/emergency preparedness, medical surveillance, and/or health education and promotion.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Safety/Health Promotion and Demonstrating Value/ROI - Collaborates with client company management and employees to establish/maintain a workplace that will help to protect workers from occupational illness and injury and maintain regulatory compliance. Follows and implements SHARE processes that monitor, track, trend, and report outcomes so that value and ROI are clearly demonstrated and reported to the customer on a quarterly basis.

  • Manages program administration by utilizing and including the customer in the SHARE process of: goal setting, planning, implementation, evaluation and measurement as a means of accomplishing the desired occupational health goals for the program. May provide oversight and direction to LPN's and wellness coordinators. May function as a leader/member of Corporate Health team of professionals where an integrated service model is in place.

  • Develops and operates the occupational health program according to the established guidelines and regulations set forth by the federal, state and local laws, professional organization and the SHARE Occupational Health Program. Completes all requested/required reports timely and attends all required/requested meetings/presentations.

  • Provides Health Education/Screening/Counseling through Establishing/maintaining a system for health/wellness promotion, screening, education, and counseling as well as disease management and health coaching.

  • Ensures First Aid/Emergency Preparedness by applying nursing skills following SHARE Medical/Nursing Protocols and SHARE Clinical Procedures to provide a workplace program for the timely and effective treatment of first aid
