What You'll Do:
Performs duties in alignment with the Oncology Data Specialist competency framework and organizational Service Excellence standards.
Manages Cancer Registry operations to ensure compliance with Medical Staff requirements and ACoS/CoC standards.
Abstracts, codes, and analyzes oncology data per national registry standards, including timely case completion, accurate staging and treatment coding, and identification of reportable cases.
Maintains confidentiality and integrity of patient health information.
Conducts compliant long‑term patient follow‑up through provider and patient outreach.
Supports Cancer Committee functions, cancer conferences, and multidisciplinary activities.
Communicates registry guideline updates and performs quality assurance activities, including case review and re‑abstraction.
Participates in special studies and quality initiatives as required.
Prepares, submits, and maintains accurate oncology data reports for internal and external stakeholders, including state and national cancer databases.
Provides guidance and support to entry‑level Oncology Data Specialists as assigned.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
