Position Description:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Hyland OnBase Consultant to support, maintain, and enhance our enterprise content management (ECM) environment. This role is responsible for day-to-day OnBase administration, user support, system configuration, and ongoing optimization of workflows and integrations. The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset, and experience working in a production OnBase environment.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support the Hyland OnBase platform, including user security, document types, workflows, queues, and system settings
- Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 support for OnBase-related incidents, service requests, and production issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business impact
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with Hyland support or internal teams as needed
- Design, configure, and maintain OnBase workflows, lifecycle rules, and automation to support business processes
- Manage user access, roles, and permissions in accordance with security and compliance requirements
- Support system upgrades, patches, and enhancements, including testing and validation
- Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, and operational procedures
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend solutions, and implement system improvements
- Collaborate with solution developers, DBAs, infrastructure, and InfoSec to ensure a stable and secure platform
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience supporting and administering Hyland OnBase in an enterprise production environment
- Active Hyland OnBase certification (e.g., System Administration, Workflow, or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of OnBase architecture, document management, workflows, and security models
- Experience troubleshooting OnBase issues related to workflows, integrations, users, and performance
- Strong experience with SQL for querying, troubleshooting, and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues and drive them through resolution
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Unity Client, Web Client, Unity Forms, and related modules
- Demonstrated success planning/executing OnBase upgrades and module installs with minimal downtime
- Scripting/automation experience for operational tasks and deployment hygiene
- Experience with monitoring/alerting tools and log aggregation; JIRA or similar ITSM
- Solid grasp of backup/DR, high availability concepts, and change management (ITIL)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting OnBase integrations with ERP, HR, finance, or case management systems
- Experience with integrations with Hyland OnBase (Salesforce, MuleSoft, SAP, GCP, etc.)
- Experience with change management, release management, or ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
- Exposure to compliance-driven or regulated environments
- Prior experience working in a matrixed or enterprise-scale organization
