Weekly Pay Package for 40 hours per week

Weekly Tax Free Stipend to be paid $929.60

Position Summary

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) provides rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist. This role supports long‑term care patients through evidence‑based practice, documentation compliance, and collaborative care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver treatment interventions per regulatory and clinical practice requirements under OT supervision.
  • Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and assistive device use.
  • Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising OT to adjust treatment plans.
  • Report treatment effectiveness and contribute to discharge summaries.
  • Provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and service providers.
  • Document all required information in the electronic system and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Record treatment minutes per regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review, and rehabilitation meetings.
  • Attend facility and company trainings, in‑services, and conferences.
  • Collaborate with OT to obtain necessary DME or supplies.
  • Supervise and support students under OT guidance.
  • Adhere to NBCOT/AOTA standards, state practice acts, and professional ethics.


Requirements

  • Active Texas COTA license (Compact accepted).
  • Minimum 1 year OTA experience.
  • Long Term Care or Rehab experience required.
  • Compliance with NBCOT/AOTA code of conduct and state regulations.
