Position Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students qualifying for OT as a related service
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and assessments for students experiencing deficits impacting academic performance
- Interpret evaluation findings and recommendations to parents, staff, and IEP teams
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy programs aligned with student IEP goals
- Provide individual and group therapy services in educational settings
- Participate as an active member of multidisciplinary and IEP teams
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, paraprofessionals, and families to support student success and classroom carryover
- Monitor student progress and modify interventions as appropriate
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including evaluations, progress notes, IEP goals/objectives, and required reports
- Train and support educational staff, therapy assistants, and paraprofessionals in implementing therapy strategies
- Order and maintain therapy materials and equipment while following accepted safety practices
- Stay current with best practices in school-based occupational therapy
- Perform additional duties as assigned by district leadership or Special Services administration
Qualifications
- Active Missouri Occupational Therapist License
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain compliant documentation and manage caseload responsibilities
- Required state and district clearances
