This role supports comprehensive patient care within the Women & Children’s Unit, assisting surgeons and clinical staff during operative, invasive, and delivery procedures. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining the operating environment, managing surgical instruments and supplies, and ensuring adherence to sterile processing standards. The position also involves assisting with vaginal deliveries, performing essential nursing assistant duties such as monitoring vital signs and supporting daily patient needs, and aiding in patient transport and care coordination. Additionally, the role contributes to accurate documentation, order transcription, and departmental improvement initiatives, all under the guidance of nursing leadership.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Sufficient experience to demonstrate ability to accept responsibilities. Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in the Operating Room is preferred. 1 Year hospital experience preferred,
EDUCATION: High School diploma or GED preferred. Post high school education and/or certification in a healthcare related field is preferred. Completes all mandatory review/education as required and assigned
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Associate Degree, Surgical Technology strongly preferred if less than two years experience. Operating Room Technician Certification is preferred. Current BCLS Certification is required.
