Position Summary:
Responsible for daily operational leadership of all nursing and patient care services at NYU Langone and for leading a wide range of strategic initiatives and innovations for the departments within nursing and related clinical areas where the practice of nursing occurs. Creates and supports a healthy work environment that fosters professional nursing practice and positive patient care outcomes; develops and provides leadership for the planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care in accordance with the mission and values of NYU Langone Health which includes fiscal prudence; specifically guides the management of nursing practice, education/professional development, nursing research, nursing administration and nursing services. Is a member of a hospital and patient care services executive team charged with achievement of excellent patient outcomes and creating a highly sought after practice environment for nurses, nursing staff and interdisciplinary colleagues. Oversees programs related to achieving and maintaining Magnet Designation. Establishes strong relationships with all other disciplines in order to understand and integrate diverse perspectives into decision making process
Job Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Licensed as Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; minimum of graduate degree in Nursing or Nursing Administration from an accredited Program and seven plus years of progressive nursing administration experience; demonstrated competence in communication and relationship building within nursing and other disciplines; financial planning and management; critical thinking, systems analysis, quality and performance improvement processes. Demonstrated knowledge of the healthcare environment, change processes, organizational development, human resources, labor relations, and professional nursing practice. Certification in nursing administration or relevant clinical specialty required; participation and leadership in professional organizations, such as AONL, NYONEL, ACHE and related specialty organizations highly desirable; physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual and aural acuity. Understands the tripartite mission and competing priorities of an academic medical center.
Required Licenses: Registered Nurse License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral work in progress or earned, desirable. Certification in Nursing Administration, Administration Advanced, and or/relevant clinical specialty preferred

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $214,300.00 - $256,886.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
