CLOUD COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE Program Coordinator, Nursing_03.26.26 Position Title: Program Specialist, Nursing Reports To: Dean of Health Professions Type of Contract: Full-Time, Professional Services Length of Contract: 12 Months Date of Position Description: March 2026 GENERAL NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION: The Program Specialist for Nursing, supports the growth, sustainability, and overall success of the Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program through coordination of recruitment, student advisement, and retention initiatives. This role serves as a key resource for prospective and current students, as well as community partners, to promote access, engagement, and student success within the program. Primary responsibilities include recruitment; conducting detailed transcript review to determine plan of study and program eligibility; providing administrative support for program review and national accreditation processes; and coordinating clinical compliance requirements for students and faculty. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines with minimal supervision. An associate degree or higher is required. Preference will be given to candidates with an unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license and relevant nursing experience; however, candidates with healthcare or business experience will also be considered. GENERAL ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Essential functions of this position include the demonstrated ability and willingness to: 1. Utilize computers, printers, and standard office software, including word processing and student information systems, with proficiency. 3. Operate and perform basic troubleshooting of office equipment, including printers, copiers, and related technology. 4. Exhibit strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills when interacting with students, colleagues, and external stakeholders. 2 5. Uphold strict confidentiality of student academic and health records in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA regulations. 6. Work effectively and respectfully with individuals from different academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds. 7. Provide to support to locations throughout the service area. 8. Maintain flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support program and institutional needs. 9. Meet the physical requirements of the position, including those necessary to perform essential job functions. SPECIFIC ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Nursing Program Specialist, shall perform the following specific job functions under the supervision of the Dean of Health Professions: v Recruitment and Outreach: Assist in the development of promotional materials and represent the Nursing Program at high schools, career events, campus tours, and recruitment fairs. v Admissions and Eligibility: Review and evaluate applications and unofficial transcripts to determine prerequisite equivalency for program admission in coordination with the College Registrar. v Student Advisement: Guide prospective and current students through program requirements, application processes, and course planning. Support students in clarifying academic and career goals and developing the skills needed to navigate their educational pathway. v Enrollment Support: Process student requests to enroll, drop, or withdraw from courses in accordance with institutional procedures. Meet with students and visitors through scheduled appointments, drop-in sessions, and enrollment events (in person, phone, or virtual). v Student Support and Referrals: Provide appropriate referrals to campus and community resources to support student success. v Retention and Academic Monitoring: Monitor student progress, including grades and academic standing, to support continued program eligibility and progression toward graduation. Provide targeted support and follow-up as needed. v Data and Systems Management: Utilize systems such as Jenzabar and Canvas to maintain advising records, review placement scores and transcripts, monitor reports, and support student retention initiatives. Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic student records. 3 v Clinical Compliance Coordination: Track and manage clinical requirements for students and faculty, including immunizations, background checks, drug screenings, and CPR/BLS certification. v Clinical and Program Support: Assist faculty with skills and simulation activities, including setup and breakdown. Support program operations by proctoring exams, participating in assigned committees, and assisting with events such as pinning ceremonies. v Accreditation and Compliance: Provide administrative support for program review processes and ongoing accreditation requirements (e.g., ACEN). Ensure adherence to institutional, state, and federal policies and regulations. v External Relations: Collaborate with clinical partners and regional healthcare organizations to maintain awareness of workforce needs, trends, and clinical placement opportunities. v Professional Development: Participate in workshops, seminars, and training opportunities, including those that may require overnight travel. v This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
