Day ShiftDescription:GENERAL SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to manage a Nursing academic program including advising students, faculty oversight, curriculum development, program revisions and clinical site management. The position will have teaching responsibilities for .75 FTE and administration for .25 FTE.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides leadership and guidance in all areas of the program, including program policy and procedure, curriculum development, accreditation and retention efforts, and clinical/learning experiences.
Establishes and maintains relationships with the community, accrediting agencies and clinical site partners. Represents the program at state level organizations.
Assists in the development of the annual budget and monitors expenditures. Communicates variances to appropriate management.
Hires, develops, trains and motivates faculty to ensure optimal performance. Coordinates faculty and adjunct assignments. Provides regular feedback, including the annual performance evaluation.
Facilitates a continuous quality improvement process aligning with accreditation standards and College institutional outcomes and values.
Ensures application of program offering designs are implemented as planned by providing ongoing evaluation of didactic and clinical courses.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Master’s degree in nursing or nursing education.
Three years’ experience teaching in higher education.
Five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
Current and valid Iowa RN license.
Demonstrate knowledge of academic and accrediting processes.
Demonstrated ability in managing, leading or training others.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
