Our Progressive Care Unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients.

Patient Population: Medical PCU consisting of all Cardiac drips; mix of surgical post-operative volume to include, vascular, ortho, neuro and trauma.

Patient Ratios: 1:4

Job Summary

As Nursing Manager, level 2 RN, you shape a positive team environment, ensure high-quality nursing practices, teamwork, and patient safety. You create plans, implement policies, manage resources, oversee finances, and manage quality improvement efforts. Arrange educational programs to meet goals and act as caregiver when needed.

  • Formulate and communicate a clear vision for nursing practices within your area of responsibility.
  • Involve supervisory and other staff in setting and accomplishing departmental goals.
  • Continually update your knowledge base with the latest evidence-backed clinical and leadership practices.
  • Foster a healing and supportive environment for patients, families, and fellow staff members.
  • Recognize development needs and facilitate educational opportunities for staff members.
  • Set a positive example of professionalism within the nursing field and work atmosphere.
  • Incorporate the organization's mission and goals into strategies for staff and patient care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.

  • RN license required.
  • Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of hire/transfer.
  • Minimum of 2yr RN Supervisor or higher experience required, preferably within PCU/ICU.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (e.g. state inspections, joint commission), quality, accountability, and project management required.
