DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW:
The Butte College Nursing Program is seeking two (2) full-time, tenure track instructors for the Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN) program, beginning in the Fall 2026 term. Successful candidates will provide both classroom and clinical instruction. Classroom teaching will take place at the Glenn Center in Orland, while clinical instruction will occur primarily at local skilled nursing facilities and other clinical sites.

Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge in all content areas of the Licensed Vocational Nursing curriculum and clinical competencies. The faculty in the Vocational and Associate Degree Programs work closely together and must possess a knowledge base of both the vocational and registered nursing roles. Responsibilities include teaching nursing theory, clinical, and laboratory content.
POSITION DUTIES:
In addition to the representative duties listed below, this position is also responsible for:
Providing academic and clinical instruction, supervision, performance counseling, and evaluation of students in the Vocational Nursing Program. This may include instruction in the Associate Degree Nursing Program and/or the Certified Nursing Assistant Program.
Assisting the department with the development and coordination of curriculum, staff, clinical agencies, and scheduling for the nursing programs.

Degree in progress: In order to qualify under this process you must be currently working toward the degree requirement. The completion date must be no later than July 31, 2026.

Education Code § 87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he or she is free of active tuberculosis.
