Job Summary and Qualifications:
The Surgical Services Manager oversees the daily operations and activities of the Operating Room (OR) department. This role is responsible for managing departmental functions to achieve quality improvement, fiscal stability, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals established by the Director. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: planning, preparing, and overseeing staff schedules; providing input on hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions. The Manager supervises RN, CST, FA, schedulers, OR aides, anesthesia staff, and sterile processing technicians. They oversee operations across the OR, CVOR, anesthesia, and sterile processing departments. The role involves developing collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, and staff—both internal and external—to ensure efficient and effective department functioning. Additionally, the Manager ensures compliance with JCAHO standards, hospital policies, and procedures. They are responsible for managing supplies and equipment, fostering teamwork with physicians and healthcare providers, promoting customer satisfaction, and ensuring appropriate resource utilization.
What qualifications will you need:
Minimum 1 year of acute care recent (within the last year) OR leadership experience as a full-time Charge Nurse/ Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management.
Minimum 3 years RN OR experience in acute care
Certifications:
(APRN) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or (RN) Registered Nurse
Registered Nurse Diploma, or associate degree
CNOR preferred
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
